Diptychs and Triptychs
Reflection
1. The subject matter includes a bee along with a hive, a pinecone and a tree, two basketballs together, and lastly myself along with a balloon.
2. Three of my photos are vertical and two of them are horizontal.
3. Most of the images relate to each other by having either a physical connection or a natural connection.
4. My images relate conceptually by having a certain connection like question number three. The bee and the hive relate to each other because they have a common relationship. The tree and the pinecones are physically connected. The Basketballs are relating old versus new. And lastly myself with the balloon relate through a period of time while the balloon is being popped.
5. Each diptych/ triptych connect the relationship between each image.

Documentation of my dogs' life
Reflection
1. I chose to document the life of my two dogs Sandy and Dobbs.
2. This was significant to me because I feel as though their lives are pretty interesting
3. I took pictures of some of the things they do everyday in chronological order. Some things include sleeping, getting a bath, or playing.

Still Life
Reflection
-Studio Still Life
1. I chose to take photos of a balloon and some pins for my first image, and for my second still life I chose to capture a contemporary image composed of objects such as a mirror, a clock, a book, and a wilted flower. The objects in the still life were supposed to be connected in a certain way.
2. The balloon and the pins have great meaning because they symbolize the power and pain that one can inflict upon the other, yet they still stay next to each other and share the same space. The second still life symbolizes the meaning of knowledge, time, life, and death connected together in a single scene. The book represents knowledge, the mirror represents life, the wilted flower represents death, and the clock represents time.
3. The arranged the balloon on top of the pins in front of a gray backdrop. In the second still life, I arranged the objects together in random locations within a white box.
4. I made sure that there was light shining right on the side of the balloon in the first still life to capture a shadow, and in the second still life I pointed the light right on the images with no shadows to capture all of the objects clearly.
5. I manipulated the lights to clearly show the images being captured.
-Found Still Life
1. I found all of my still life images in my room, the first one was of my laptop and chargers after doing school work for the night, the second still life displays the connection of all the hats upon my bed, and lastly the final still life displays the aftermath of my dirty clothes when I had gotten home from my basketball game.
2. I did not arrange the objects in any certain way, I felt that their location and connection with each other would mean more if they were not moved around in any certain way.
3. The light for the images was not set up in any certain way as well, I simply used the light from my room.
4. I did not use any studio light in any of my images.
5. The images share a connection between each other in a simplistic way and tell something about their relationships wether it be similarities in color, shape, or conceptual connection.

Photojournalism Assignment
Corey Arnold
-Forty year old photographer out of California, photographer who also works for a commercial crabbing company.
-His Work mostly contains images of nature and human life through a different, more colorful point of view.
-I think that his work doesn't deal with social justice but more with cultural and natural issues. He takes a turn for the good and makes the observer think about how meaningful nature and the environment are to us.
- It is not important historically.
- It is promoting the positive social change we should be inflicting upon our earth.
- It promotes environmental awareness amongst the public.

Photo #2
Description:
- The subject matter of the image is a seal and the setting takes place at sea.
- In this photo, the seal is jumping out of the water and attempting to take the fish out of the fisherman's hand.
Technical Aspects of the Photograph:
- The lighting in the photo is natural light from the sun probably around mid-day.
- The lighting comes from the sun, and it is shinning down on the subject.
Contrast:
- The photo has plenty of contrast, the water displays a dark blue towards the bottom and the water towards the top displays a white color to balance the photo.
- I believe that the photographer implements a fast shutter speed to capture the seal catching the fish as well as a shallow DOF because part of the fisherman is out of focus and the seal is in complete focus.
Composition:
- The camera angle was from an angled bird's eye view.
- The photo is very balanced between color and subject matter.
- I think that this photo implements the rule of thirds very well.
- The clear focal point of the image is on the seal eating the fish, there is no distracting background and everything in the image is very clear.
- The photographer didn't frame subject matter in a foreground.
Interpretation:
- I feel amazed and interested when I look at this photo.
- The mood of the work is based on curiosity/ intellect.
- The photo definitely tells a story, this seal could have been hanging around the boat all day waiting for a hand out, and one of the crew mates decided to give him one for being patient.
- Im not sure what kind of response this photo may create.
- I think the artist tried conveying how amazing and interesting nature can really be. Not everyday do you get to feed seals fish jumping out of the water.

Envisioning Somerset/Berkley first photo series:
Reflection
1. The Photographer can play a very important role in creating a sense of community in a town. The Photographer can capture the essence of community through the people, the businesses, and the buildings. Simply capturing the setting of an everyday environment amongst people in a business can create a sense of community in a town.
2. A Photographer can promote community by capturing the feeling of communication between people in the city or town. If the photo taken is of people exchanging a conversation, working together on a project, or involving each other in a group activity it could very easily promote a sense of community amongst a town.
3. The framing and moment of the photo can create an immense amount of narrative or explanation. For example, a conversation amongst people in the right moment can mean a number of things and curiosity could very easily be expanded upon.
4. One of the photos that I chose to capture is of my old music teacher named Mr. Dietz teaching his class during the school day. Most of the photos captured of him are very similar and have similar properties. The moment of him teaching his class and emphasizing the movement of his arms to his students is very interesting because it captures the moment in a very well developed scene. The light is very generic in the classroom and does not add much to the image, but I do believe that some of the points of view taken of him teaching add to the concepts of the moment.
